Game Review: Dungeon Defenders 2 - First Impression

Hello all! Welcome again to another game review.

I think I have played enough of Dungeon Defenders 2 to share my first impression of the game.

Dungeon Defenders 2 is an Co-Op Role-Playing Tower Defense Game developed by Trendy Entertainment with 4 playable classes: Squire, Monk, Huntress, and Apprentice. The game is currently on Alpha stage with minor bugs here and there. This game is available on both PS4 and PC platforms. The game was released in 2015.

This game offers both single player and multiplayer gameplay in which players are being tested on coming up with strategies utilising towers to protect Eternia Crystals from being destroyed by waves of orcs, goblins and dragons.

Quick Question: Dungeon Defenders vs Dungeon Defenders 2?

I have not personally tried Dungeon Defenders but most reviews, I found out that there are mixed feeling regarding both.

Dungeon Defenders:
  • based on longer runs over 1hour-2hours
  • much friendlier for single player mode with insane boost to towers
  • Smaller base
  • Less maps

Dungeon Defenders 2:
  • shorter runs (20-30mins)
  • more co-op based.
  • bigger base to run around
  • more maps
  • companion features
  • customizable attribute skill spheres for
  •  upgradable loots

Dungeon Defenders 2 is currently free-to-play downloadable from STEAM.

Following are the system requirements which I personally tweaked a little due to personal experience:

Recommended

OS: Windows Vista/7

Processor: minimum Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-3210M @ 2.50 GHz

Memory: 6GB Ram*

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2600 or better / NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better, 1024 MB video memory, with Shader Model 3 support

DirectX: Version 9.0

Network: Stable connection of at least 1.0 Mbps

Hard Drive: 10 GB available space

Sound Card: DirectSound-compatible sound device

If any specs fall below, you will encounter certain degree of lag and delays which may hamper your gameplay a little.

Here are some snapshots of my gameplay.

My Personal Tavern - you can join game, upgrades and do anything else inside your private tavern

Multiplayer Town. It's quite huge for Tower Defense RPG

Do note that we can at 1 time own all 4 classes and summon different towers before switching to our desired class and start the Tower-Defense Match.

Overall, I had a good time playing the game. It was extremely laggy for me to be in the public tavern aka town. I usually meet up with my friends, party up and enter Private tavern for our games.

Graphics significantly better than Dungeon Defender. Every map is refreshing and feels not so grindy. Leveling curve is pretty decent (speaking from an experience of owning Lv48 Squire).

Dungeon Defenders 2 is a game of tower-defense hack & slash combat with colourful graphics beautifully refined to its fullest.

If you are bored and looking for something different than usual Grind-Leveling RPG, this is the game for you. Another good feature of the game is that if you mess up your stats, you can reset them at fixed 1.5k gold each time. (Gold is easy to earn).

Hard Mode Maps offer  decent challenge to me which is good as playing with bunch of friends and figuring out how to defend against waves of monsters kinda hype me up.

Another thing to note, the cash shop system does not offer an advantage to players. Cashing in this game is purely unlocking more inventory slots ( you will have enough of slots even as F2P player), cosmetics features and Premium Pets for Cashers.

Join the Newsletter Group in Steam for free 200 gems. As you can see, the avatar and costumes are obtainable even as F2P player. Fret not, and hit the Download Button if you are up for some Tower-Defense RPG gameplay.

That is all for today. Hope to see you guys real soon on my next post. I will be trying out Tree of Saviors starting 29th March for Early Access. Look forward to my reviews on the game! Cheers!

Game Guide: Seven Knights (SENA): Lu Bu & Three Kingdoms

Sup guys, it's about time we get a huge update for Seven Knights. Netmarble decided to bring out Lu Bu with 3 Kingdom Heroes for this update.

Here's a little a couple of snapshots of my summonings and arena. Somehow my arena seems tougher than before for the week. Took me awhile to hit the 4.4k rating.
With this update, I dare say the meta will change drastically especially immunity frontline heroes.

Today's update brought about couple of things:
  1. World 9 Remaining Heroes: Lubu & Three Kingdom Heroes
  1. MingMing skills descriptions changes
  1. New Guild War Banned Heroes

As usual, I will break down the updates and analyze with you guys.

Lu Bu, the new Lord is here.

He is undeniably the best counter to our current hot PVP meta right now.
4-men Piercing Attack + Decrease Buff duration by 3turns! He is basically a good counter to Soi's Team and Immunity Team + You do not really need Nia anymore when Lu Bu is able to ignore Def + remove immunities. There is more to him, his passive boost 6 turns of Void Shield for him!!

Void Shield: A buff that is unlike immunity, no form of damage can be dealth on the unit with Void Shields. Piercing and Armor Penetration will not work as long as Void Shield is up.

Let's give a scenario.

Lu Bu backliner with 4 frontlines. You have to literally throw AOE for 6 times in order to wear him off, otherwise it is hard to autoattack a backline unit. Going full counter seems like a good choice to fight Lu Bu.

OP??
Yep, definitely very OP. Then again, I suspect the rate of obtaining Lu Bu will not be as high as Ace & Wukong due to his skills. If you have Lu Bu, say goodbye to immunity teams in arena. You can bulldoze your way to PVP Master Or even Legend tier.

Chancellor Zhao Yun

A really well-designed character and cool skill animations. He is basically a good tank and immune to debuffs for 3 turns giving more alternative to dishing damage on opponents when others are being held by CC.

Verdict: ***
Reason: Being Phy Dmg Unit, MAy/ Jin is able to reduce his damage significantly + he is unable to provide any form of CC for your team

Hidden Moon Diaochan

She is a pretty decent support unit. Grants 1 turn of Void Shield from her skill. She goes well with magic based team. She is the better Lina but specifically designed to fit in purely Magic build teams.

Verdict:****
Reason: Wukong, Daisy & MingMing are all decent magic units in the PVP meta. Adding her to the team will be a good boost to 1hit KO opponents with Piercing Skills (Wukong & Daisy).

Great Strategist Zhuge Liang

Being known as a renown strategist, his skills surely seem rather underwhelming. He does not provide any form of CC but a little mixture of Ming Ming, Jin and Spike.

Immune to debuffs may just be for the Zhuge Liang and not the team.

Verdict: ***
Reason: He goes well with Zhao Yun and other units with solo-immune to debuffs. Adding DiaoChan into the team will boost the extra 1 turn of Void Shield to last longer in battle.

Virtuous King Guan Yu

Well, he is the One unit everyone has been waiting for.
Reduction to both magic and physical attacks and boost 1 turn of Void Shield. 1hit KO skill on non-immune units due to 500% amplifier.

Verdict: ****
Reason: A relatively good tank not only to PVP but clearing Hard mode Element dungeons and higher Celestial Towers.

Ming Ming's Skill Description Changes.

I personally tested and do not feel any difference in the skills output nor the CC. Pretty sure there is no ninja patch and just purely description correction. Fret not!

New Hero Banned in Guild War

Sadly, this time, it will be my Rudy and Soi.
Second time in a row, my main units are being targeted.

Velika will rise again with Soi out from Guild War.

As usual, hope to see you guys again on my next post! Happy Gaming to all!

Game Guide:Seven Knights (SENA) New Update & Guild War Ban List

Hey guys, it has been awhile. I had been occupied with couple of games first-impression testing and will be putting up the reviews as soon as I can. Meanwhile, in SENA, we get our weekly update again.

RNGesus has never been so kind to me in Arena. The Free-2-Play Dream!

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone Happy St.Patrick's Day!

For today's update, the following will be the highlights for my post:

  1.  Hard Mode Element Dungeon
  2. St. Patrick's Day Event.
  3. Guild War First Hero Ban List

Hard Mode Element Dungeon

(Thursday Dark Element) will be tougher than others. To the old players, I am sure some of you remember the days whereby when we first started out, dark element dungeon is 1 tier harder than other elements. Not to feel too depressed about not being able to clear the hard mode. We will eventually be able to do it. We can gauge more from tomorrow's Hard Mode Daily.

St. Patrick's Day Event

Well, just like previous event, collect enough clovers from Mimics to unlock MingMing's custom costume. Free Costume is always good to have. Collectors can start hunting for Mimics!

Guild War Ban List

This first ban list actually affected a lot of players.
First, Developers boost the Hero-Time summoning rate for Wukongs, we saw a sudden surge of wukongs in Arena for past weeks. Cashers especially took this opportunity to rush to lv38-lv40 wukongs. You will know a casher when you see lv30s with maxed out Wukongs. Next, Ming Ming, being one of the highest CC rate unit, majority decided to transcend her and spent all of their resources in maxing out MingMing. Velika, most used starter unit for farming and Arena backline carry for sometime prior to Soi's arrival will be targeted as well.
As such, it is not surprising but a rather scum move to ban these 3 heroes in Guild War. Possibly a move to change the Guild War Meta for a week.

Problem:

How to solve this issue if there are your main carries?

Currently, good 6star lv30 units standalone without transcending are
  • Bai Long
  • Ruri
  • Soi
  • Daisy
  • Feng Yan
  • Nia
  • Mao Song
  • Ace
  • Seven Knights
Bai Long is good due to his 3turns of berserk passive which prevents debuffers unit from taking him out and AOE active buff removal. Between lv30 Ace and Bai Long, Bai Long definitely wins the better unit choice.

Ruri is still the fastest regular speed unit with easily the highest physical burst among the regular units. Replace Velika with her for backline finisher.

Soi, the best passive immune from 5-Men AOE damage that is not unit-reliant (meaning it is a buff that is turn-based).

In my opinion, GA/Asia Daisy's revamped skills put her to S-tier unit. Piercing, magic damage boost and immune to all damage.

Feng Yan's 3 turn immunity to all attacks and magic-based damage. A good counter to Ruri and Nia.

Nia's utility has always been the CC skill and immunity removal. Definitely a good unit for Guild War when Velika and Wukong are both banned. (those 2 are capable of killling Nia easily)

Lastly, Mao Song's 35% damage reduction + AOE stun chance. Use him for the cc and tankiness against Soi's team.
A note to know: Mao Song's passive is not a team-buff based.

1 of the Lords in the ban list bin, Ace users will be happy to take out the squishy units.

Any of the Seven Knight units will be a good replacement for the banned units. (Although, Kris, Rachel, Javes may not be good choices out of the 7)

That is all for today. Next post will be on new game review. Cheers and Happy Gaming, see you guys next time.

Game Guide: Seven Knights (SENA) New Update 1.0.46

Hey guys, it has been a long time since my last post on Seven Knights.

Welcome again to another tips and thoughts on the latest update in SENA.

What have I been up to? Some of you guys must have been wondering that. Well...things are tough for me in SENA so I took a little time off and go casual passive mode for couple of days.

RNGesus continues to torment me with bad draws and fusions.
Yes, I heard you. To those who have been following my blog, indeed, I do not fancy rubies summoning. However, I do draw once every week to get some fodders for rank up and fusions.

Draw 1

Draw 2

Draw 3

Really 'ouch' moments on these summonings

Shipping these two, hopefully will be fruitful. Unfortunately, they are a bad pair. I guess Joker is really meant for May eh. Lol

My runs in Map 9 has been pretty decent though. Yay!

About my Arena, 20 winning streaks! Achievement unlocked.

Alright, let's get down to business. Today's update brought 4 new heroes to us from World 9 and with that, World 9 heroes fully released.

Let's start with Kung Fu Panda.

Pros: Fluffy and drunk.
Cons: He is dark element. If you are hero collector, get him. Otherwise, he is a fodder unit.

Bandit King!

Pros: This guy has better utility. Unlike Korean version with passive like Javes (50% damage reduction), global/asia gave him an immunity to all damage status + cooldown reduction with autoattack. Wait, there is more! He has AOE stun skill too! CC and immunity, pretty much like MingMing.
Cons: Soi, Spike, Karon/Sieg and Lucy counter this guy.

Ring Ring!

Pros: Her passive seems too awesome to ignore. To make use of her, get her high speed weapons so that you can take out 1 enemy asap. She works well in high burst attack team such as Dellonse, Javes, Ace, Wukong, and other high damage units.

Cons: Very squishy just like Soi. Also, you need to keep her alive to benefit from her passive.

Bruce Lee!

Pros: The better unit among all 4. First unit in our current hero pool to get 'UNDEAD' passive. 3 Turns too! He will not be removed with Nia, Rudy or Ruri.

Cons: If CCed hard along with buff removal, he will not survive. However, he is a pretty strong backliner. Spike users may put him as backliner to maximize his potential.

Lastly, Yuri and Daisy both get revamped.

Daisy

Thoughts: She is a beast now with immunity to all damage and 40% boost to magical damage + single target Piercing. Putting her with Wukong, Ming Ming or Velika will form a deadly team. To those yet to obtain a Wukong, Lv40 Daisy is slightly below Wukong in terms of utility.

Verdict: ****

Yuri

Thoughts: At least she has revive now. The better version of Ace due to the new revive.

Verdict: ****

That is all for today. Post your questions in the chat box if you are looking for suggestions. Cheers and Happy Gaming! Next post will be out in a couple of days.
